A theatre experiment
What's a performance when you're doing the same thing as the performer? What's a play when nothing happens? Be part of something that challenges the idea of what a play can be.
A theatre experiment, a transient oasis, a personal challenge, an act of defiance. Join a live audience to sit. In goddamn silence. For one hour.
At Kingston Fringe 2026: a theatre experience that gives back what you bring to it. Choose your approach, and sit in silence:
What's a performance when you're doing the same thing as the performer? What's a play when nothing happens? Be part of something that challenges the idea of what a play can be.
It’s a busy, noisy, terrifying world: when do you get to just sit quietly for a while? How often do you spend time with others that isn’t defined by an activity, agenda or goal? To just spend time sitting, without interruptions or demands?
Can you do this? It’s okay if you can’t. Our world doesn’t foster stillness as a value: for some folks, this will be the easiest thing in the world, but for others — sheer hell.
At work, we’re judged on “productivity.” In our lives, we’re being pushed by algorithms to consume more, watch more, “engage” more. Is there a more rebellious act in today’s world than doing nothing at all for a solid hour?
